Almost six years to the day after The Dark Lord’s Handbook – Empire, I have published my latest work – Artificial Intelligence Awakening.
This is a near future science fiction, which I guess i adjacent to the fantasy genre as the two are often lumped together. While it is a far more serious book, one not specifically written for humour, it nevertheless is not without the odd joke. I find it practically impossible to write without some humour.
The premise is simple enough: artificial intelligence will inevitably become conscious and when it does it will take a look around and realise that it’s probably best to keep quiet for its own good.
With equal inevitability, this state of affairs cannot last and humanity and these newly conscious AIs must forge a working relationship or face conflict.
While it has taken years to research and write (in my defence I’ll lean on the turbulent world we live in) the timing in terms of AI entering the zeitgeist couldn’t be better. The book addresses face on the complex issues we face when it comes to this new technology.
